Continuing with our coverage of the 2012 SEMA show, here you will find many of the vehicles throughout the show sporting Vortech or Paxton Supercharging Systems. From the North Hall to the South Hall and everything in between, we were everywhere you looked…and that is just the way we like it!
Vortech’s new V-3 H67BC Supercharging System for the Scion FR-S & Subaru BRZ was on display in the SEMA New Products Display area, for everyone to come examine how the system appears all together, without being installed into a car; as well as how well the system was engineered, and how great it looks!
Project Top Notch from Creations n’ Chrome is just about the most insane Fox Body you are ever likely to come in contact with. Not only is this Mustang painted blue chrome with Spectra Chrome paint, but it is also a Vortech V-7 Supercharged, Coyote 5.0L engine-swapped, JME SLA billet inboard cantilevered front suspensioned track annihilating beast of a Fox Body! Customized in every way to the extreme and then some, this rolling piece of usable art weighs in at just under 2,500lbs., and with the engine set back a full 17″, features a near-perfect 51/49 weight distribution. Look for the Cn’C team to be tearing it up with this car at a track event near you very soon!
Also from Creations n’ Chrome is this evil Chevy C-10 Pickup. It’s got a Vortech V-7 YSi blown 502 Big Block under the hood with a huge intercooler and tons of attention to detail throughout, not to mention the full Hotchkis suspension, and Falken rubber wrapping 5 spoke HREs…this truck was built for taking care of business!
Chris Alston’s Chassisworks had their Component Drive Systems (CDS) Gear Drive on display in their booth with a Vortech V-28 123 Supercharger. Need a gear drive for your race setup? CDS should be the first place you look.
Another of the amazing FT86’s at SEMA 2012 was John Toca’s “Toca Series” Scion Tuner Challenge FR-S. Apart from the gorgeous Vortech V-3 H67BC Supercharging System under the hood, the car was redone and customized at every corner, with a list that includes Perrin, Borla, Five:AD, Cusco, Air Rex, Recaro, Pirelli, and many more.
While walking outside the Central Hall we found this extremely modified Nissan 350Z. On top of the Vortech V-2 Supercharging System, custom intake manifold, and nitrous system we could see, we are sure there were many additional engine mods that we could not see. The car also features a Veilside widebody kit, eye catching green paint, sits low, and looks mean.
GM Design Award Winner Rick Bottom Designs had this golden Camaro SS Convertible showing in the Metra Electronics Booth. With 806 horsepower and 730 lb. feet of torque on tap courtesy of his V-3 Si Supercharging System, a host of other goodies, and the expertise and tuning from the team at Jannetty Racing, this ‘vert has show and go!
The team at Webasto, along with the students at Baker College tricked out this 2013 Mustang GT, and included with that was a Paxton NOVI 2200 Supercharging System, Maxflow FPB Voltage Booster, and Maxflow Competition Air Inlet. Those pieces, along with a custom tune from John Lund, brought this GT to over 600RWHP. Be sure to check out the car when it rolls into your town on its national tour.
The Fatlace team built this super impressive FR-S for display in the Scion Booth. Showing off a race style, and with boost provided via the new Vortech intercooled V-3 Supercharging System, there were crowds gathered around this car virtually all week long.
Chris Berry’s G35 had me stopping dead in my tracks when I saw his immaculately polished engine compartment with its Vortech V-3 Supercharging System. Chris is a customer of one of our favorite shops in the San Francisco Bay Area, Nissan/Infiniti specialsts Z Car Garage.
IPF Tuning had a couple of their V-3 Supercharged V6 Camaros at SEMA this year. We first found IPF at last year’s SEMA show, and were instantly impressed with the Supercharging System they had developed for the V6 Camaro platform, using our Vortech V-3 compressors. This bright red one was outside the Central Hall, shining bright in the sun.
What else would you expect from a car in the Air Lift Booth but something sitting right on the ground and looking absolutely sick? The Rotiform Wheels Scion FR-S fits the bill perfectly, and running the new Vortech V-3 FR-S System catapults it into being one of the top cars of the show.
Our friends at TruFiber were showing off their Gotta Have It Green 2013 Mustang GT convertible in their booth, decked out with a myriad of their carbon fiber parts, Air Lift suspension, Magnaflow Exhaust, Toyo Tires, and (of course) with some excellent Paxton NOVI 2200 boost nestled under the hood helping 5.0L Coyote engine push out over 615 horsepower.
Trace Weatherford’s 5.7L Challenger R/T was parked on the walkway between the Central and South Halls, and showed off its polished Vortech V-3 Si Supercharging System, polished Baer Brakes, polished Foose Wheels, polished exhaust, and lowered stance for the thousands that walked by.
You might recognize Arseniy’s VF-Engineering Supercharged E92 M3 from our “Hitting The Streets #3” video. He informed us at SEMA that his V-3 blown M is actually pushing nearly 700 horsepower now, but we were unable to catch him in time to get some current underhood shots. No matter what, this Vorsteiner Widebodied beast definitely commands your attention whether on the road or sitting still.
Michael Doscher’s Hillbank Motorsports Synergy Green Camaro V6 is the 2nd of the IPF Tuning Supercharged 5th Gen cars that we found as we walked the show. Very familiar with Michael and his Hillbank Motorsports crew, we know they build all of their cars to drive them hard, so that they can give you first-hand knowledge, and stand behind the parts that they sell.
Also from our friends at Hillbank Motorsports, Ashton Stander’s Vortech V-3 Si Supercharged 2012 Mustang GT was in the Doug Thorley Headers Booth repping their great products. Ashton’s Mustang was also featured in our recent “Hitting The Streets #3” video.
DNA Motoring had a pair of VF-Engineering Supercharged E92 M3’s outside among the feature cars. The first of which with a white & grey color scheme, and the second with a white & red color scheme. Each utilizing a Vortech V-3 Supercharger and a VF-Engineering Air/Water Charge Cooler, this pair of Bimmers mean business!
Tony Brakohiapa’s ebay Motors Vortech V-7 YSi Supercharged Formula Drift Mustang is the kind of beast that you can’t just walk by without stopping and admiring all the work that went into it. This S197 is making big power and is ready to make huge smoke while going sideways at a moment’s notice.
Rj DeVera’s Scion FR-S Art Car was looking bright and beautiful in the Scion Booth along with he rest of the Vortech Supercharged cars there. With 4 out of the 7 FR-S’ in the Scion Booth rocking Vortech boost, everyone at the show knew that Vortech was one of the top brands for force induction for all FT86 platform owners!
Gary Shellum’s Lysholm 2.3L Twin-Screw Supercharged Camaro SS has been one of our favorites for a while now. Gary is constantly updating the look and the performance of his car…sometimes so drastically that we don’t recognize it from one time we see it to the next! Thanks to stanceiseverything.com for the additional photography on Gary’s SS.
We have been in love with Vivek Baid’s Vortech Supercharged G35 Sedan for a long time now, and he is definitely another enthusiast who is constantly updating his car to keep it fresh and new. Vivek’s car was featured in our “Hitting The Streets #2” video a while back when it featured a sweet metallic brown paintjob. Thanks to Brendan Bannister from stancenation.com for the additional photography of Vivek’s G.
We are sure there were more, but these were all the Vortech/Paxton/Lysholm Supercharged vehicles we found walking around SEMA 2012. Do you have more? Please let us know! Thanks and see you next year!
