Charged86 from FT86Club.com already had himself one nicely built FR-S. Starting off with mods like a Motiv overpipe, Invidia Catless front pipe & Q300 cat-back exhaust, Perrin lightweight crank pulley, suspension goodies from Eibach and Whiteline, and a set of Axis Wheels, topped off with a custom candy painted Vortech V-3 H67B Supercharging System under the hood. However, when the car came to Dynosty in Louisville, KY for some boost and fuel upgrades, it was time to get serious.
In went a set of 550cc fuel injectors, higher capacity pump, and a 2.87″ Vortech Supercharger pulley, bringing the boost output to ~13psi. The 93 octane pump gas was exchanged for E85, given the boost level and high compression stock FA20 engine. Dynosty is an EcuTek Pro Tuning facility, with an in-house Dyno Dynamics dynamometer. The final step was dyno tuning this FR-S to maximize performance, which Dynosty worked their magic and the final calibration yielded 339RWHP, effectively doubling the factory rear wheel horsepower output (still on a completely stock engine!).
After the FR-S was picked up, charged86 took his extra power to the drag strip, where he ran a Supercharged FR-S record 13.1 1/4 mile his first time out, on street tires! (See video below.)
