Vortech Brings Home Wins In Both Race And Show At The NMRA Ford Nationals @ MIR…

First off, with the finals being rained out in Commerce, GA, there was some unfinished business from the previous race that needed to be settled. In Renegade, it was down to Valerie Clements and A.J. Wyce, and the win would be decided in Maryland @ MIR.After a good race, Clements took the win, with Wyce in the books in the runner-up spot.

On to the events of the day, where Renegade was one of the tightest fields the class has seen in a long time, as Brian Mitchell led the 11-car field with a National Record-Setting run of 8.298 at over 169 miles per hour, while the next seven competitors were all within two tenths of each other.
Mitchell ran through his side of the field, while Adam Arndt did the same on his half of the ladder. In the final round, the pair left with almost identical reaction times, but Mitchell powered ahead to take the win light, 8.35 to 8.62.

Terry “Beefcake” Reeves brought his backup car to the event. What is in store for his record-setting Blue car next???

On the show side of the event, Nikki Frost’s Vortech V-3 Si Supercharged Gotta-Have-It-Green 5.0L GT captured the awards for “Best Modern Mustang” and “Best of Show – Interior”. You may recognize Nikki’s awesome Coyote from the Vortech Superchargers booth at last year’s SEMA Show. Congratulations Nikki! Glad to see you continuing to win award after award with your gorgeous green boosted powerhouse!

Keith Fidura’s Coyote 5.0L Mustang has some really nice upgrades that set it apart from the average GT. Keith’s 2013 features Borla S-Type exhaust, a full wrap from N8VCOMP, Street Scene and 3D Carbon body pieces, Forgestar CF5 Wheels with Falken Rubber, and a big boost in power thanks to the Vortech V-3 Si System under the hood.

This sick Vortech Supercharged Fox Body with a cog drive and custom cooler setup was certainly guaranteed to grab attention! A lot of attention was clearly paid to this build. Send us more information on the car if you have it please!

Scott Perry brought out his Vortech V-3 Si Supercharged Coyote 5.0 for the event as well.

Vortech Superchargers @ Toyotafest In Long Beach, CA…

This past weekend Toyota fans of all types came out to the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA for Toyotafest 2013. Whether your preference is a big power Supra, V.I.P.’d-out Lexus, classic Corolla or Celica, or a modded Scion, all those and way more were welcome and all parties were represented well. The main focus for many, however, was the insanely popular FT86 crowd…and many of which in attendance were sporting V-3 H67B Supercharging Systems from Vortech Superchargers.
Noel Barnum’s absolutely jaw dropping Vortech Supercharged FR-S could be found representing in the OEM Audio + Booth.

Taking the 1st Place Award for Best Scion FR-S at the event was Robert Kochis’ Vortech Supercharged Stay Crushing FR-S.

The 2nd Place Award for Best Scion FR-S and the Best of Show Award went to the Fatlace Vortech Supercharged FR-S.

Taking the 3rd Place Award for Best Scion FR-S was Migel Armas’ Vortech Supercharged FR-S. Migel’s FR-S was actually the very first FR-S sold in the United States.

RJ DeVera’s Meguiar’s Vortech Supercharged Concept NUR FR-S was on display as well.

The Torque Meet Tour Presented By UTI Chicago Finds The Tjin Edition Roadshow…

This past weekend (May 4th, 2013) the Tjin Edition RoadShow made the journey to Glendale Heights, just outside of Chicago for the second Torque Meet Tour of the year. The Torque Meet Tour in Orlando was a huge success, and the second event was right on par with over 500 cars, 42 vendors, and several thousand spectators. For this special event, Vortech combined booths with the Tjin Edition RoadShow and UTI for a massive 200×50 booth located front and center in the vendor midway. This massive booth allowed us to showcase several high profile cars and gave the spectators and fellow car enthusiasts a place to interact with our partners and their display vehicles.

This special gift car, the Vortech Supercharged Concept NUR Scion FR-S is a Forza-fied version of the 2013 Scion FR-S that was featured in the Scion Booth at SEMA 2012 in Las Vegas.

The goal behind the car’s design modifications was simple: to develop a vehicle that extends and personifies the performance, styling, and characteristics of the already technically advanced Scion FR-S, while enhancing the look and feel of the stock car with a more exotic stance. In short, they took what was cool about the FR-S and made it cooler. Here is the car as it appears in Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport 4:

Garage Sale @ Vortech HQ This Saturday! Needs Some Parts, Come On Down!

Nic Quinones’ Subaru BRZ Is Boosted, Corn-Fed, And A Mile High…

Nic Quinones has a lot of firsts under his belt when it comes to his Subaru. He was one of the first owners to take delivery of a BRZ in his home state of Colorado, he was one of the first to purchase the Vortech V-3 Supercharging System for the BRZ/FR-S (even before its official release), and he was the first to run his Vortech boosted BRZ on E85 to see what he could get with it. E85, which is an abbreviation for an ethanol fuel blend of 85% denatured ethanol fuel and 15% gasoline, is not available everywhere, but has gained an increasing following where it has become readily available across the United States. Carrying a significantly higher octane rating, cars able to run E85 (or converted to do so), when tuned correctly, have the ability to make more power, similar to vehicles running race gas.

After Nic’s conversion to E85 with 500cc fuel injectors and fuel pump from Visconti Tuning, along with a smaller pulley for the supercharger to increase the boost, and a custom E85 tune from Harvey @ The Boost Creep Ltd. in Longmont, CO, Nic has now more than doubled the output of his BRZ, turning the dyno rollers at The Boost Creep to an extraordinary 365.3RWHP. With stock FT86 cars normally dynoing at around 160RWHP, Nic’s vortech Supercharged BRZ has been catapulted to a whole new plateau of power and performance.

The only mods Nic is running on his mostly stock BRZ (besides the Vortech Supercharging System) are Perrin Performance’s non-resonated catback, non-catted front pipe, over pipe, oil cooler, and air/oil separator.

What may be even more remarkable is the fact that Nic is making all this power at only 12psi boost, and at an altitude of over 5,000ft., where the air is much thinner, and therefore more difficult to make both boost and power.

“I planned on towing the car home (from the dyno), but after seeing these numbers I just had to drive it home. Just from the drive home the car is amazing. You have plenty of power down low, no need to down shift to pass. From 1,000 to 5,000 you can feel the torque…your head is almost all the way back in the seat. But where the real power is, is from 4,500 to redline WOW. I wish I were better at describing all this for those of you reading this. It has a nice smooth feeling that happens very quickly. My next purchase is going to have to be tires, because my current ones break loose in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and sometimes even 4th now. Hope this helps some of you out, like I said I can’t describe how amazing this kit is.”

When asked what he thinks of his Vortech Supercharged BRZ now that he has had some time to adapt to his new power, Nic had this to say: “It’s AMAZING! I was happy with the kit the first time but now its hard to explain it. Its like taking the 4 cylinder it was and turning it into a giant V8. What’s crazy and I have never had before is in first and second gear when taking off the tires break loose till about 4000rpm then right at 5500-6000 they break loose again without changing gears or anything. Big Thanks to Vortech, And The Boost Creep Ltd. for the tune.”

Hot cars, tire smoke, and watching drivers race around the streets of Long Beach driving sideways. Sound like a great way to spend your Saturday? Well, then you were probably at the Formula Drift Season opener & Slammed Society Show in Long Beach, CA this past weekend. Vortech and Paxton were there too, and we had a great time showcasing our products and speaking with thousands of spectators in attendance.

Noel’s sick Vortech V-3 H67B Supercharged FR-S debuted it’s new combination Vertex & Rocket Bunny kit at the event and drew ridiculous amounts of attention all day long.

Migel’s FR-S was the very first FT86 in the country, and now it proudly wears a brand new Vortech V-3 H67B Supercharging System. Migel had his “1 of 86″ plaque on display for all to see at the event.

What can we say about Jon Sibal’s Vortech V-3 Si Supercharged Challenger R/T that hasn’t already been said? One of the spectators at the event may have said it best when he stopped dead in his tracks and yelled “That Challenger is GORGEOUS!!!”. We agree.
